Duck Hunting
Did you know that west Texas offers some of the finest Duck Hunting in the United States? This is absolutely true. The ranch property for Duck Hunting, lies in the middle of the Central Flyway. Because the ranch is in the temperate zone, it is also the stopping ground for many migrating Ducks. This location, teamed up with the best professional guide staff, a consulting wildlife biologist, and strict agricultural practices is a formula for waterfowl numbers. Guided Duck Hunt $275.00 per person This hunt requires a minumum of 4 people and includes, dinner the night of arrival, lodging, continental breakfast prior to the hunt, professional guide & dog, the "duck hunt", and brunch after the hunt.
Unguided Duck Hunt $180.00 per person This hunt requires a minimum of 4 people and includes 1 night of lodging in a satellite ranch house and continental breakfast prior to the hunt. This is an unguided hunt, hunters will be escorted to the hunt area the afternoon prior to the morning hunt.

Ranger Creek Ranch offers duck hunting property as a seasonal lease. Season leases offer various levels of service. Call the Ranch at 940.888.2478 or email Season Duck Leases for prices and availability, also check the Knox and Baylor county pages for available leases.The duck ponds will be hunted soley by the lease holders.


6 ducks, to include no more than the following:

* 5 mallards (only 2 of which may be hens)

* 3 wood ducks

* 3 scaup

* 2 redheads

* 2 pintails

* 2 canvasback

* 1 dusky duck (mottled duck, Mexican-like duck, black duck and their hybrids are closed the first five days of the season in each zone)

* All other species: 6


Five in the aggregate, to include no more than 2 hooded mergansers.



Daily bag and possession limits shall not exceed 3 and 9 migratory game birds, respectively, singly or in the aggregate.

  • Hunting License,Federal and State Waterfowl Stamps (Duck Stamp), Hip Stamp, Hunter Safety Certificate

  • Waders or Waterproof Boots
  • Camo Clothing (weather appropiate)

  • Heavy Steel Loads 3 to 3 1/2 inch
  • 12 gauge or 20 gauge Shotgun
