THREE GENERATIONS OF HARPERS
 
 

Ricky, Christopher, and Dewayne Harper, and Justin Smith came in to hunt Turkeys. Once again windy conditions were the rule. They managed to take five nice birds. All turkeys were three to four years old. The best day came when Christopher took two toms with one shot the best bird had five beards. Way to go Christopher.

RON AND KAYCEE NELSON
 
April 9 Ron and KayCee Nelson were in from Minnesota for a spring turkey hunt. The goal was for fifteen year old KayCee to take a nice tom to mount in her quest for a grand slam!! High winds with gust approaching 70 mph made the first days hunt tough. They had numerous encounters which ended with KayCee taking a very nice turkey with 1 1/4 spurs and a 9 1/2 beard. DICK ALFORD
 
April 4 Once again we welcomed back Dick Alford for the opening weekend of spring turkey season. Dick called in two nice toms opening morning and took both approxiamatley thirty minutes apart. One tom weighed 23lbs, 3/4 inch spurs,and a 8 1/2 inch beard the other one was 25lbs, 3/4 inch spurs, and had a 9 inch beard. Rance Rich
 
 
     
     
 
MIKE FAIR
 
April 4 Michael, Joshua, and Mike Fair were in from Mississippi to kick off spring turkey season. Each took a nice tom even though conditions were tough and winds were high. All the toms were 22-25lbs each 3/4 to 1 inch spurs and all had 9 inch beards. Rance Rich

MITCH GAITHER
 
March 30 Mitch Gaither came in from Arkansas to hunt hogs, Mitch had hunted in Texas two times before with no success. He took his first hog ten minutes into his hunt and ended up with six hogs in three days!! Rance Rich
 
 
     
     
 
KURT SMITH
 
March 25 Kurt Smith came in with daughter Kelsey and friend Able to take nine hogs. Each person shot three hogs and had lots of fun. High winds blew the entire time they were here, despite their persistance payed off and they had a great hunt. Rance Rich
 
 
     
     
 
TRACE TURECEK
 
March 18 Trace and his friends came down from Colorado to hunt Knox and Baylor county hogs. With hunting conditions less than favorable they still took six hogs home, (in a cooler). I feel it is neccessary to warn all wild hogs to look out next season when these hunters come back you will not be safe these guys spent more time in the stands than eating and sleeping combined.   Shawn Cadden and buddies came in from Colorado came in to hunt hogs at RCR, after watching deer, turkeys, armadillos, rabbits and fish swim they left with full tummies and two hogs!! Not too bad.

March 18 First time hog hunters Jim and Jake Mandos came in from Colorado to see what the hog hunting craze is all about. Jim took a hog before he got a hog before he even got to his stand on the first evening, and on the last night of their hunt Jake took two by spot-n-stalk. Rick O

EVAN STEWART
 
March 14 The Evan Stewart hunters came to RCR for their first time, they had a great time. The two bow hunters were treated with seeing a boar larger than most of us dream about harvesting, it did'nt give a shot oppurtunity but I think we'll see these hunters again. Rick O
     
 
SCOTT CHAPALA AND TONY HURON
 
March 14 Repeat hunters Scott and Tony came in to try their hand at auodad sheep hunting. They saw many auodads, did a stalk on one within rifle range but elected to wait for larger one. One ancient old ram did give them a run for their money! the auodad will be here for for you next season guys!!Tony and Scott did take home three hogs. Rick O
     
 
JOHNNY MARTIN AND GANG
 
March 10 Rain finally came to North Texas and it was much needed. Johnny Martin and friends were back for their eighth year of hunting and the weather could'nt have been better, rain and cool weather put the hogs on the move. Johnny's group took 14 hogs home with numerous other oppurtunities. Lots of the hunters ask how long they need to stay in the blind Johnnys outlook is you stay in the blind until you shoot a pig and looks like that philosphy paid off!!! Rance Rich

March 10 Randy Long brought in a group to do some hog hunting and that is exactly what these folks did. The group took seven hog back to Missouri with Randy's brother Doug taking three the first night with two of the hogs being taken with one shot. Nice job Doug!!!! Rance Rich
     
 
MARK ELPERS
 
March 5 Mark Elpers and his group were back to RCR to do a little hog hunting and they were greeted with some North Texas hot weather, hunting was tough but despite not the best conditions this guys took home six hogs way to go!!! Rance Rich

March 4 Nicks group came in from Nebraska came to RCR for the first time hunting conditions were not good but they still managed to take home five hogs!! Rick O
 
 
     
 
MIKE STANLEY
 
March 4 Bowhunter Mike Stanley from Colorado came in for a hog hunt with his bow, he decided to try and take an auodad sheep one evening he had several within bow range of the blind but no shooter rams Rick O
     
 
RECORD SETTERS
 
  Mark Van Zee and Tim Grove came down from Colorado and were joined by H and Johnny from Florida. Six hogs were taken and another ranch record has been set, Marks 6 year old son Marcus took his first wild boar (please follow link to see videos) making him the youngest hunter to take a boar here at Ranger Creek Ranch!!! Also Jeremy Grove took his first boar as well proving it is never to early to start the wild hog habit!! Rick O
