PAUL AND NATHAN SPANN

Dec 27 Father and son, Paul and Nathan Spann, have many hunting stories they share. This weekend they added one they thought would never happen. All but one duck pond was frozen in Texas! We had to hunt the same place back to back. The first day went well but day two was over in a flash. Fifteen birds in two days over the same 400 square feet. We'll get 'em next time! DUCKS AND PHEASANTS
Rance Rich
Don Vaugn and friends were in for two morning of duck hunting and an afternoon of pheasant hunting. The duck hunting was great. Lots of ducks made for plenty of opportunity. In two days of hunting they took 23 ducks. All but two were mallards. We saw more mallards than I have seen in a while. The pheasants they took in the afternoon made for lots of hunting action and fun.

TEXAS TRIPLE PLAY

Dec 7 Mike and Justin Snyder from Blacksburg, Virginia, came in for a Trophy Deer hunt. With Mike as "cameraman", Justin put down a terrific eight point buck, a huge wild boar and a spot-n-stalk Javelina. Conditions were good for deer hunting, cold nights and calm days. Many deer were seen, including many young bucks, showing potential to be future trophy-class bucks. Good job Guys!

BILL GEIGER

Bill Geiger, from Florida, came to Ranger Creek Ranch for a five day trophy deer hunt. Hunting conditions were excellent, except for a little rain. Bill went home with two deer, one of which is a super trohy class eight point and also a great hog. Rick O

ERIC JOHNSON AND BRUCE LILLY
David Van Bevers

Eric and Bruce came in to Ranger Creek for a trophy deer hunt, Eric primarily hunts duck. This was his first time deer hunting in several years and it naturally had to come down to the last day, last hour before he brought down this fantastic ten point buck. The only thing that would have made his weekend truly worth bragging abou,t would have been taking an aoudad ram home. Eric's oppurtunity came late Friday evening. The ram gave us a chance at 425 yards, it's a tough shot for anyone, but maybe next time he comes down we'll close the deal.

Bruce is a life long deer hunter from Sandwich, Illinoise. Bruce passed up on a couple of decent young bucks before he pulled the trigger on his ten point. After he got his deer crossed off, he said get me a pig. So Sunday evening we went to our newest property, settled in at 4:00 pm, shot a nice boar by 4:15. Pig hunting always brings a big 'ole smile.

BO AND RANDY

Dec Bo and Randy came in for a trophy deer. Bo hunted at Ike's and Randy at NE Waggoner. Both guys saw lots of does and some small bucks, including a nice 8 point. Randy ended up taking a 14 poin.t Way to go Randy!! DJ Moss

RICKY CARTER

Dec Ricky Carter was back for his second year of deer hunting at Ranger Creek Ranch. Last year was good, but we did not manage to get the one we were looking for. This year was promising, with lots of game camera photos of the one we wanted. Unfortunately the last picture revealed that the deer had broken off one of his brow tines. It came down to the last morning of the
hunt, when he finally came out chasing a doe. Ricky made it count and the buck was his. What a hunt and what a deer. Great job Ricky!

ED GOYNES DUCK HUNT

Nov Ed Goynes was in again to hunt ducks. He brought Mike Herrick and John Gessner to hunt and Betthany Dehaan came along for the experience. Hunting was tough with no wind and fog preventing birds from committing. We managed to take seven ducks with several missed opportunities. Betthany shot guns for the first time and got to experience a duck hunt. Hopefully Mother Nature will start providing us with better conditions to take ducks.

SCOTT CHAPLA

Nov Returning hunter, Scott Chapla, came in from Indiana to hunt Aoudad sheep and hogs. On his first evening he saw an Aoudad ram but decided to pass on it. Good thing, because a little while later, he had an opportunity at a larger one. He took this Aoudad at 300 yards and we have learned it has made the record books. His ram scored 139 4/8! (A measurement of 115 is required to get into the books) Aoudad sheep here are absolutely free range animals, and it takes patience, a keen eye and a well placed shot to take one. Good job Scott!

DUCK HUNT WITH ED GOYNES AND FRIENDS
Rance Rich
Ed Goynes was in with Clay Morehead, Kirk Burleson, and Bill Crittenden for a morning of duck hunting. They were hunting in warm conditions that we have not seen since early September. Hunting was great anyway. Ducks came in providing plenty of shooting. Everyone got their limit and had a great time. This was our first duck hunt of the year and I hope it is a sign of great days ahead. Cooler weather is in the forecast and Ed will be back for some more hunting.

KENNETH GUEST AND FRIENDS

Nov 14 Kenneth Guest, J J Shelton, Cory Anderson, Paul Richie, and Scott Dillon came in for our first 09 trophy deer hunt. They were successful on taking two good bucks. Many deer were seen, but with the breeding phase of the rut just getting started, the bucks had gotten out of their normal pattern. We were at the mercy of being at the right place at the right time.

Kenneth Guest came in to do some deer hunting. Warm conditions during the day and heavy fog in the morning slowed hunting a little. We saw numerous deer but did not see a mature buck until the last day of the hunt. Then we saw two within 30 minutes of each other. Kenneth was unable to connect on the shot at the first buck. I wish he could do that one over again because I know he would make the shot. The second buck managed to escape to the safety across the fence. I at least know where that buck is bedding. Might get a chance at him later.

THE BISHOP'S
Rick O
Tim and Doug Bishop from Bowie, TX came for their third deer hunt, and for the first time it wasn't downright hot. Hunt conditions were a lot better than their previous hunts. Many deer were seen, Doug harvested a great ten point buck on our new hunt lease at the Burnette. They also saw a huge wild boar, but it would'nt offer them a shot. This sighting gives us a clue about what we can expect for our hog hunting at the Burnette.

Nov 11
